On behalf of The Nigerian Division of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR), the Host of the African and Middle East Region (AMER) conference for the year 2011, andthe co-host the Nigerian Dental Association, I am happy to announce plans of the scheduled meeting slated to hold in Abuja, Nigeria between the 27thand 30th of September, 2011. It is equally my pleasure to invite you to attend this3rd edition of the AMEREvent.

This year’s conference is specifically planned to address the many contemporary needs of the scientific dental community who practice within the realities of the ever evolving and complex socio-cultural and economic situations of our times. While we all seek to improve the quality of oral health service delivery for the good of our patients, we are all equally faced with the challenges posed by globalisation of health and health issues. These are issues taken into consideration as we make plans for this all important conference. We recognise the ethical imperatives for us as dentists to drive our practices based on evidence yet not losing focus on the patient centred approach to health care delivery. The conference will therefore address individual skills building, update knowledge, and facilitate opportunities for networking.
